Cincinnati Jr. Cyclones Pre-Post High School Hockey Program 2025–26 Inaugural Season

The Cincinnati Jr. Cyclones are proud to launch our Pre-Post High School Hockey Program for the 2025–26 season. Modeled after elite programs like the CAHA 67's and Columbus Chill, this initiative is designed to serve OHSAA and club high school players looking for competitive ice time before and after their high school season.

Program Overview:
Pre-Post teams offer a vital bridge for high school athletes seeking to:

Prepare for the OHSAA season (which runs November through February/March)

Continue development in the fall (August–October) and potentially compete in a post-season event in March

Train and compete with high-level coaching prior to the start of their school teams

Build chemistry with players they will see during the OHSAA season

Program Details:
Who: Players born 2007–2011 who are enrolled in an OHSAA-member high school

Season Duration:

Start: August 11, 2025

End: October 20, 2025

Post-season Tournament: Potential tournament in March 2026

Level of Play: Tier II AA

Cost: Estimated $1,000-$1,200 per player

Roster Limit: No more than 5 players from the same high school team

Games: Approximately 20–25 games, including 1–3 tournaments

Practices: Around 20 practices held at QCS

Player Benefits:

Structured development through fast-paced, modern training methods

Focus on skill progression that translates to game situations

Opportunity to stay sharp in the fall and extend the season post-playoffs

Great option for players not playing fall sports

Tryouts:
Tryout information for the 2025–26 Pre-Post season will be released in early May 2025. Tryouts will be held Wednesday May 28th @ 6:00PM & Saturday May 31st @ 10:00AM

Age Groups:
16U,18U, HS: Players born in 2007–2011

Uniform & Equipment Requirements:
Jerseys: Home and away jerseys (not included in registration fee)

Gear: No restrictions on helmet, glove, or pant color for Pre-Post teams (black is preferred)

Required: Mouthguards, neck guards, and helmet ear pieces

Key Age Ranges and Eligibility:

  • 16U:

    May include players born in 2009, 2010, and 2011, potentially with those born in 2011 intermixed on 16U teams. 

  • 18U:

    Typically includes players born in 2007 and 2008. 

  • OHSAA High School Eligibility:

    A student may become eligible for high school athletics at the 15th birthday before August 1st of the ensuing school year.
